The Southern's main Guide Book for England, produced every year from 1923 until 1940 and again in 1947.

		In 1946, the Southern Railway re-issued copies of the 1940 guide with a cover sticker detailing the changes since publication.

For some years the whole guide was published in sections. This started for the 1924 edition and continued until 1930. The Isle of Wight Section was published from 1923 until 1934. Visit London, later re-titled The Magic of London, was the London section and was published from 1929 until 1932.

Hints for Holidays was first published by the London & South Western Railway in 1914, the guide having been published from 1899 as The Company's Official Illustrated Guide and List of Hotels, Boarding Houses and Apartments. The British Railways 1949 edition, though having a new cover illustration, had virtually identical content to the 1947 edition.
